Great place to visit, the museum has a few hands on exhibits which is great. The Concorde is superbly presented. It also has the world's greatest climbing frame, I need one for myself.
A fantastic place to visit that strikes the balance well between 'attraction' and 'museum'. The highlight for many will likely be Concorde, but the venue is absolutely rammed full of historic aircraft (including military), with any number of interesting sections to learn more about how aviation has developed through time. Well worth a visit to get up close and learn more about countless examples of brilliant engineering.
Lovely day out. Concorde is something special to see. Can get around in 2hrs but could easily spend 3. Gift shop is one of the best I've seen, some old school toys.As a suggestion to make it easier for families, it would be great to have a few things for kids to touch and play with in the museum. Please note their is an outside playground for kids but it was too cold when we went.
As an engineer, this is the most interesting museum in Bristol. It gives a really wide idea on how a big part of the technological development, that we use in our everyday life, occurred in Bristol. All around the museum it is possible to read explanations about the exhibition, complete but easily understandable by everyone. The museum is easy to reach by car, it is also provided of a big parking, but is not so comfortable to reach with the public transport.
Amazing time spent here. Once you go you can return within 12 months. Really informative displays with great additions such as a sea harrier. Obvious highlight is Concorde which is presented in an amazing way with great displays projected onto the body of the aircraft. Staff are really well informed on the displays and the facilities are great. Would highly recommend, especially for people with family ties to the aviation industry in Bristol.
