Had a family get together here. The food and drink was lovely. Staff friendly. Nice atmosphere. Took photos.
Been here a few times with mixed results. Our latest visit was probably the worst, it started when we were told our favourite tipple was off and went downhill from there. We had booked and were sat promptly and ordered. I ordered the squid whilst my partner ordered mushrooms. My squid was overdone whilst my guest's mushrooms were underdone. After this we both ordered the rump steak (medium rare) with various sauces etc. We were also each given what amounted to a quarter of an iceberg lettuce covered in dressing, a rather odd and cheap thing to serve. The steak arrived and was so thick (almost ball shaped) it would have been impossible to cook to order properly. Both steaks were very rare halfway through. For dessert we both had cheesecake, this turned out to be a mistake as the cheesecake had that waxy, split cream texture which was totally inedible. I feel that the cheesecake was old and had been sat in a fridge for an extended time. The only highlight was when our lovely waiter came over when he saw our disdain for our pudding, he apologized profusely and took it off of our bill. Amusingly, he gave us another table's bill (which was double our own) but I sorted it out with the matre d.So to sum up, I give M&C a disappointed but generous 2 out of 5.
Good food, great steaks. Great service. Clean. This particular M&C is the biggest we've seen. Only small problem was the Guinness, not good. However, everything else was tip-top.
Excellent service, warm and welcoming atmosphere. I had the deal 3 meals for 26, there was lots to choose from and the food was excellent quality. Definitely a place to go for a special and enjoyable night out
Compliments to the chef my steak was cooked perfectly. The best steak I've ever eaten. All other staff very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend
